Network Terms

These terms cover the Network only. They sit alongside the Terms and Conditions for the service as a whole, and do not replace them. They apply from the moment you switch the Network on, and to every piece of work offered or accepted through it.

What the Network is

The Network lets one business offer a piece of work to another and lets that other business take it on. The business offering the work keeps the relationship with their own customer throughout. The business accepting it is doing the work, and nothing more than the work.

Joining costs nothing. A fee applies to each job passed, and the amount is shown to you before you offer or accept anything.

Not approaching the other side's customer

This is the term that makes the Network usable, so it is stated plainly. A business passing work on is handing a live job to a competitor, for a customer they would rather keep.

If you accept work through the Network, you agree not to approach the offering business's customer about that work, or about work of the same kind, on your own account. That holds for twelve months after the job you accepted is finished.

It does not stop you working for a business you already worked for before the offer reached you, and it does not stop anybody approaching you. What it prevents is using an introduction made here to take an account you would not otherwise have reached.

You are not told who the offering business's customer is. No offer names them, and there is no screen anywhere that lists them. This term covers the case where you work it out anyway, from an address or from being on site.

What is recorded

When work is offered to you, we record that it was offered, to which business, and when. That record is kept whether or not you accept, and it is what either side can point to if there is ever a disagreement about who saw what.

We do not police this term and we do not read your correspondence. The record exists so that a dispute between two businesses has facts in it rather than recollections.

Coverage

Where you work is used to decide which offers reach you. It is never published, and there is no directory of who covers where. Another business cannot browse the Network to find you; they can only be matched to you by work they are offering.

The work itself

The agreement to do a piece of work is between the two businesses. Payment, price and standard of work are theirs to settle. We are not a party to it, we do not hold the money, and we do not arbitrate.

Whoever accepts a job is responsible for doing it properly, for their own people, and for their own insurance.

Leaving

You can switch the Network off at any time. Doing so stops new offers reaching you and stops you making them. It does not end an agreement you have already entered into with another business, and it does not remove the record of what was offered and to whom.

The term about not approaching the other side's customer outlives your membership, for the twelve months described above.
